Friends in Christ Weekly Message
January 13, 2007

God's love is meteoric,
     his loyalty astronomic,
His purpose titanic,
     his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
     nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
     slips through the cracks.

How exquisite your love, O God!
     How eager we are to run under your wings,
To eat our fill at the banquet you spread
     as you fill our tankards with Eden spring water.
You're a fountain of cascading light,
     and you open our eyes to light.

Psalm 36:5-9 (Message*)

The psalmist is overflowing with exuberance as he considers the awesomeness of God matched only by God's amazing love and care for each of us. Does God arouse in you the kind of feelings aroused in the psalmist? Isn't this an appropriate response to God?

Are you eager to run under the wings of God, to eat from His banquet and drink His living water? Have you allowed God to open your eyes to the Light?

Bill Samuel
