Friends in Christ Weekly Message

Know this - I am most emphatic here, friends - this great Message I delivered to you is not mere human optimism. I didn't receive it through the traditions, and I wasn't taught it in some school. I got it straight from God, received the Message directly from Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:11-12 (Message*)

Paul was probably the greatest first generation Christian evangelist. The gospel he spread was not taught him in any school. He had not heard it from Jesus while he was walking the earth. By conventional standards, he was very ill-prepared for what became his life's work.

Paul states he received the message he shared directly from Jesus Christ. And this would have been after Jesus' death, resurrection and ascension.

This allows Paul to speak to us today in a special way. His access to Jesus Christ was the same as ours. Christ remains as available to us as it was to Paul two millenia ago. We can learn directly from Christ as Paul did. And, like Paul, we can share what we learn from Christ with others.
