The Lord will make all things complete for me:
O Lord, your mercy is eternal;
do not give up the works of your hands.
Psalm 138:8 (BBE*)

Our spiritual development towards Christian maturity is not something we do. It is the Lord's work. Our part is to open our hearts to Christ, and to allow the Holy Spirit to direct us to those things (like spiritual disciplines) that will allow Christ to do the work in us.

We can rely on God's mercy and grace. We sure need them! Although we stumble, God is patient and takes us from where we are at. Praise God!
