Friends in Christ Weekly Message
March 17, 2012

They spoke out against God and Moses: “Why did you drag us out of Egypt to die in this godforsaken country? No decent food; no water - we can't stomach this stuff any longer.”
Numbers 21:5 (Message*)

The Israelites had been wandering out in the desert. This was no fun. And they were tired of the same manna day after day. Sure, it had been bad to be slaves in Egypt, but this was not their idea of a great free life. The future was not visible to them.

It's a reminder to us that God's way is not always an easy path. Even when we can't see what lies ahead, we need to trust God no matter how it seems right now. Instead of complaining, we need to be praying to God to help us be faithful, and to leave the outcome to God.

Bill Samuel
