He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, knelt down, and prayed. He said, “Father, if it’s your will, take this cup of suffering away from me. However, not my will but your will must be done.” Then a heavenly angel appeared to him and strengthened him.

It is not wrong to cry out to God with our concern with what seems to lay before us. However, we do need to submit our will to the perfect will of God.

When we do relinquish our own will and accept the course that is faithful, we open ourselves to God coming beside us and strengthening us for whatever life holds for us.
