Friends in Christ Weekly Message
July 19, 2014

[NOTE: This message was originally published July 16, 2005.]
Train me, God, to walk straight;
     then I'll follow your true path.
Put me together, one heart and mind;
     then, undivided, I'll worship in joyful fear.

Psalm 86:11 (Message*)

Investigate my life, O God,
     find out everything about me;
Cross-examine and test me,
     get a clear picture of what I'm about;
See for yourself whether I've done anything wrong -
     then guide me on the road to eternal life.

Psalm 139:23-24 (Message*)

The life of faith is not about giving God a part of ourselves. It is about giving all of ourselves undivided in God's hands.

We need to open ourselves completely to God, not trying to shield anything from God. When we let God search our lives completely, and accept the results, then we are "on the road to eternal life" and can live a life of faithfulness.

Do I willingly open myself to God to have my life completely searched and all my failings brought to light? Do I allow God to guide and train me so that I'll follow the true path with an undivided heart?
