Friends in Christ Weekly Message
January 28, 2006

To obey the Lord is the fundamental principle for wise living; all who carry out his precepts acquire good moral insight. He will receive praise forever.
Psalm 111:10 (NET Bible®*)

The most important thing to live wisely is not to be full of knowledge as this world teaches it. It is simply to obey the Lord. We can not think ourselves or school ourselves into wise living. We need to look to God instead.

To seek to fashion the best moral code simply out of our own rational thinking will ultimately result in failure. God is the source for true morality. We should not look to manmade philosophical principles or sets of rules to govern our moral life. Instead, we should earnestly seek God, and we will be shown how to live a truly moral life.

This process will naturally lead us to praise God. We will realize that God is the provider of every good gift. We will live a life of thankfulness to God.
